		&lt;div class='rss_texte'&gt;&lt;p&gt;Dr Elias Nyandwi is a geo-information for the environment and sustainable development scientist with more than 20 years of local, regional and international experience. Elias work as Senior Researcher/Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology based at the Centre for Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing of the University of Rwanda (CGIS &#8211; UR). He is a Lecturer of Geo-information and Earth observation (GIS, RS, Spatial analysis) and related applications in several schools of UR at different level (undergraduate and postgraduate programs) since June 2005. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Between July 2012 and December 2016 he conducted his doctoral research on spatial planning at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation of the University of Twente (ITC-UT), the Netherlands. March 2008, He has got a MSc. in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Natural Resources Management - Environmental System Analysis and Management specialisation- from the International Institute of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), The Netherlands. In 2003, he graduated from the National University of Rwanda with bachelor degree in Human and Physical Geography. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
He has been actively involved in curricula development and teaching, tailor-made training design and delivery, research and consultancy projects writing and implementation, wherever Geo-information are used.&lt;/p&gt;

During his services he held the following positions &#8211; Examination officer of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Head of Civil Engineering Department, Project Manager Water Resources and Environmental Management, Coordinator of MSc in WREM, Project Director WREM, Dean Faculty of Applied Sciences, Dean School of Engineering and ICT, Deputy Dean School of Engineering, then Dean School of Engineering. He supervised 4 successfully completed PhD studies and more than 50 MSc studies. Prof. Wali coauthored 87 research publications including 66 in the peer reviewed journals. Participated in the development and working of 6 Centers of Excellence. and currently participating in the Development of Center of Water and Environment. He participated in the development 17 wining research proposals. Before joining the former National University of Rwanda and later University of Rwanda in January 2005, worked with the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) of Nigeria. In FRSC he held the following positions: Adamawa State Sector Command (Head of Administration and Finance IPC), Jigawa Sector Command (Head of Information Processing Center IPC), Zamfara State Sector Command (Ag. Sector Head of Operation, Ag. Sector Head of Administration and Finance, Sector Head of Motor Vehicle Administration and Head of Protocol) and at Gusau Unit Command (Ag. Unit Commander, Unit Head of Operation). Before joining FRSC he works with the Sokoto Agricultural and Rural Development Project (SADP) as an Agricultural Officer from 1995-1996 and at Sokoto Agricultural and Rural Development Programme (SARDA) as Assistant Technical Officer (Borehole Allocation, Sitting, Drilling Supervisor, Inspection and Maintenance Officer).&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Dr. Jean de Dieu Hakizimana worked and occupied different positions in Academia, Government and Private institutions for more than 16 years. Dr. Hakizimana worked for RIEPA/RDB (Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agence/ Rwanda Development Board), PSF (Rwanda Private Sector Federation), MININFRA (Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure), KIER (Korea Institute of Energy Research), and currently working for the UR (University of Rwanda). Since November 2017, Dr. Hakizimana was a part-time lecturer and in April 2018, he was appointed to be an Associate Researcher at the College of Science and Technology, University of Rwanda, with primary area of focus of heading the PhD programme and Research at the ACE-ESD (African Centre of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development). September 2020, Dr. Hakizimana was appointed to be a lecturer in department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Dr. Hakizimana has developed his academic career on a strong foundation of promoting and facilitating leading-edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research. He has also built his academic career on a strong foundation of providing support for a community of creative researchers to enhance research capacity and increasing internal and external research opportunities for post-graduate students. His focus has been to develop mutual beneficial linkages with industry to develop partnership and collaborative research. Dr. Hakizimana continues to develop his practice in energy related topics by collaborating with faculty in environmental related issues to integrate renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency approaches to reduce losses and emissions from energy supply and demand. His research focuses on Energy Systems Management aim to assess the effect of different scenarios of socioeconomic, technology and demographic developments on energy consumption and emissions of country's energy systems in a multi-sectoral context. With his research group, he has been able to won three research grants and he has been able to publish peer-reviewed papers on energy issues in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and other Sub-Saharan African countries&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
