Dr Elias Nyandwi is a geo-information for the environment and sustainable development scientist with more than 20 years of local, regional and international experience. Elias work as Senior Researcher/Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology based at the Centre for Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing of the University of Rwanda (CGIS – UR). He is a Lecturer of Geo-information and Earth observation (GIS, RS, Spatial analysis) and related applications in several schools of UR at different level (undergraduate and postgraduate programs) since June 2005. Between July 2012 and December 2016 he conducted his doctoral research on spatial planning at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation of the University of Twente (ITC-UT), the Netherlands. March 2008, He has got a MSc. in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Natural Resources Management - Environmental System Analysis and Management specialisation- from the International Institute of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), The Netherlands. He has been actively involved in curricula development and teaching, tailor-made training design and delivery, research and consultancy projects writing and implementation, wherever Geo-information are used.
