Bio:
Mr. Gratien MUHIRWA currently is an Assistant Lecturer at College of Science and Technology (UR-CST) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE) Department, School of Engineering from October 2020 to date. He is currently holding a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical engineering (Telecommunication Engineering option) awarded from Pan Africa University, Institute for basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUISTI), Nairobi-Kenya from November 2017 to March 2020. His specialization is in “Telecommunication Engineering”. His Research Interest lies in the area of telecommunication engineering and includes Signal and Image processing, computer networks, etc. His Master Thesis was entitled “Robust colour image watermarking using Non-negative Matrix Factorization technique in DWT domain”. After writing successfully his master’s thesis he has published a paper in a peer journal.
Mr. Gratien has done his BSc in Electrical and electronics (Electronics and Communication systems engineering) from the former National University of Rwanda (NUR) currently is University of Rwanda from 2007 to 2012. He obtained in 2004 a Secondary Level education in Mathematics and Physics option from Groupe Scolaire de Kabare (GSK) secondary school.
Mr. Gratien was a Tutorial assistant in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UR-CST from April 2016 to October,2020. Mr. Gratien was an Instructor in the Training Workshop department (TWP) at UR-CST in charge of teaching Electronics workshop technology; from May 2015 to April 2016. Mr. Gratien was a Teacher in Technical Secondary school in the Department of (Electronics and telecommunication, electricity and Computer electronics at LYCEE de NYANZA) for A2 level from February 2014 to May 2015. He was also a Teacher at LYCEE de MUHURA TVET secondary school during the academic year of 2005.
In 2010, Mr. Gratien attended different trainings from CISCO Training organized by University of Rwanda Through ICT center and he obtained three (3) different certificates on: IT Essentials; Networking Fundamentals, Routing protocols. In 2014, he attended different training from Technical and Vocational Schools Association in Rwanda (TVESA) Training and he obtained four (4) different certificates on: parabolic satellite dish antenna installation, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), TV repair, troubleshooting and maintenance. In October 2022, he attended one week training organized by UR- ENABEL project and he became school Champion in multimedia teaching content production.
