Bio:
Mr.Moise Ndekezi is an Assistant Lecturer and Academic Quality Assurance Officer in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering (CEGE) in the school of Engineering, College of Science and Technology, University of Rwanda. He earned a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology from the former Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), currently the College of Science and Technology in 2011. In March 2011, he got a position of a Tutorial Assistant in the same department. In September 2013, he was awarded a Flemish Government’s scholarship (VLaamse Interuniversitaire Raad-Universitaire OntwikkelingsSamenerking: VLIR-UOS Scholarship) to pursue master’s studies at Katolieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Water resources engineering in 2014. In November 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer at University of Rwanda, in the same college and department. In 2016, he was awarded a Pan African University - African Union Commission’s scholarship to pursue a joint PhD programme at the Pan-African University’s Institute of Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is current writing up the PhD dissertation. His research interests are assessment of performance and sustainability of water storage systems, reservoir sedimentation and sediment management strategies, advanced irrigation and drainage methods, watershed and flood modelling, urban hydraulics and storm water management, groundwater hydraulics and pollutant transport and remediation, development of water conservation methods, development of Decision Support Systems (DSS) tools in water resources planning and Management, water quality monitoring and wastewater treatment, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
