Bio:
Emelyne Umunoza Gasana is an Assistant Lecturer at University of Rwanda,
College of Science and Technology, School of Science, Department of Math-
ematics. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics
from Kigali Institute of Science of Technology, Rwanda. She holds a Master’s
degree in Technomathematics from Lappeenranta University of Technology,
Finland where she specialized in data driven modeling and business admini-
stration. She recently started her PhD in Mathematical Statistics at Linköping
University, Sweden.
Emelyne is currently a member and the Treasurer of the Rwandan Association
of Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE). She is also a member of the
Organization for Women in Science for the Developing countries (OWSD) and
a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers from the Kigali hub.
She likes listening to good music and watching a nice movie and spending
quality time with her loved ones. In her own words on her passion:
“Mentoring and advising younger ones keeps her mind fresh”.
