NSENGIYUMVA PHILIBERT, Senior Lecturer, 0788585394
Bio:
Dr. Philibert Nsengiyumva graduated with a B.Sc. in Physics from the National University of Rwanda in 1987, Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) in 1992, and PhD, in Electrical Engineering from the Central University of Technology, Free State (South Africa) in 2015. He worked as a lecturer at the National University of Rwanda and then at the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) where he served as head of the department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from 2002 to 2007. He is currently a senior lecturer and ag. deputy dean of the School of Engineering, College of Science and Technology at the University of Rwanda.
His research interests include image processing, machine vision and deep learning applied to medical images. He has co-authored 7 peer-reviewed journal articles and 2 conferences papers. He has supervised 6 students at master’s level and he’s currently co-supervising 3 students at PhD level and 6 students at master’s level.
