NTAGANDA James

James Ntaganda was awarded a first-class honors degree in electronics Engineering from Kigali Institute Science and Technology (KIST), the current College of technology, University of Rwanda. He holds master’s with Distinction in Engineering from the Robert Gordon University-Scotland. He spent two years of intensive course works and laboratory training in embedded systems development from Konkuk University, from 2012 to 2014, Seoul-Korea Republic. He has certificates from IEEE in big data (May 2017), green ICT (December 2016) and cyber security (October 2016), solar cells (2016), Lucas Nule certificates in Power systems(2018).
He is a Lecturer at University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology, School of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a 15-year experience of teaching at higher education and Research. He also served as coordinator master’s programmes(2020-2022) at the African Center of Excellence in Energy for sustainable Development (ACE-ESD), a world bank funded Programme. He has been a main contributor to the African Center of Excellence in Energy for sustainable Development management where he worked as secretary of the center’s academic council. He served as the college library committee member and college council member 2020-2022.
He was part of KOICA experts (June-August 2014) who developed a blueprint for the Innovation center worth 6.2 million USD, hosted by IPRC-Kigali. He was a team member of researchers entrusted to develop an IoT Control Board project worth 21M Korean Won for VLSI Lab, Konkuk university , Seoul -Korea(June –December 2015). He was key contributor to sustainable energy sub-program funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and hosted by University of Rwanda, which aims contribute to broad-based national transformation through postgraduate research training and capacity development worth 17,745,600 SEK (Approx 1.774 billion Rwandan Francs). He worked as advisor to the Minister of Education on a three-months contract (July-October 2019) after which he rejoined University of Rwanda to continue his teaching and Research work.
