Niyonzima  Albert

Mr. Albert Niyonzima is an Assistant Lecturer and Program Coordinator of Civil-Geotechnical Engineering in the Department Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering, University of Rwanda-College of Science and Technology. He started working at the university as Tutorial Assistant from 2013 up to 2015 at the College of Science and Technology (former KIST), Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology Department (CEET), right after he completed his BSc program in Civil Engineering in 2013. In 2017, he obtained his Masters degree in Physical Land Resources, specialization of Land Resources Engineering, ICP program from Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) and Gent Universiteit (Belgium). After post-graduate studies, he was promoted to Assistant Lecturer at UR-CST, a post he had been occupying for nearly six years. In this time, he had taught different modules such as Engineering Geology, Soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology & Geomechanics, Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering etc. and supervised nine (8) undergraduate final year projects. During his Masters training (2015-2017), he conducted a research on Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) Using Available Point Data and Auxiliary Maps in Rwanda, he is currently interested in GIS application, and Geo-statistical & Geotechnical modelling in solving Geotechnical related problems encountered in the field of civil engineering.
