Bio:
David Nkurunziza is currently a PhD Research Scholar and A. Lecturer at University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology in the School of Engineering working in the area of Engineering and Route Surveying (Geomatics). His first University diploma was obtained in 2002 and his University bachelor’s degree was completed in 2004 in Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology. He later joined the University of Dar Es Salaam; where he studied Geomatics at the former college of Lands and Architectural studies and Graduated in 2007 with a Master of Science in Geomatics; in 2018 David graduated with a MBA in Project Management from Assam Don Bosco University of India. He is at the final stage of his PhD program by research in Engineering at the University of Rwanda where he is working on portraying pedestrian safety challenges on urban road networks in the City of Kigali. He was also involved in Teaching at University level and supervising the students at Diploma and undergraduate levels in the field of route surveying, engineering surveying and Geomatics Engineering at Higher Learning Institutions in Rwanda and contributed in the module review of taught modules.

David Nkurunziza is an Associate Member of the Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy, a Professional Engineer from The Institute of Engineers Rwanda (IER) and a Certified Surveyor from the Rwanda Organization of Land Surveyors (ROLS). He was also a Board Member of the Board of Directors and Member of the Audit Committee of the Rwanda Housing Authority in the Ministry of Infrastructure/Republic of Rwanda from August 2012 to 2020.
He is an academic Auditor and Reviewer for programs certified by Rwanda Higher Educational Council since April 2014. He has been serving as an Industrial Attachment Coordinator for the Department of Civil, Environment and Geomatics Engineering of the School of Engineering in the University of Rwanda since October 2019.He is affiliated to the Institution of Engineers Rwanda as Vice Chair Person of the Membership Committee of IER and rapporteur of Federation of African Engineering Organization (FAEO) Manufacturing Working Group and is an advisor to Rwanda Organization of Land Surveyors professional bodies.
