1. Career Development plan
(1) Grant writing and application in relation to data science for health
As my new research area of interest, much emphasis is invested in research capacity building
and advance in collaborative research activities targeting local and international research
collaborators. Therefore, I plan to respond to a grant call from the field of data science for
health.
(2) Search and attend professional courses related to data science for health
From this perspective, these courses will provide me with rigorous quantitative training
and essential statistical and computing skills needed to manage and analyze health
science data to address important questions in public health and biomedical sciences.
Equip me with strong statistical and computational training to solve emerging problems
in public health and the biomedical sciences. They will enable me to manage and
analyze massive, noisy data sets and learn how to interpret their findings. I strongly
believe that with these courses, I will lean very important and new useful knowledge
and skills that will allow me to; wrangle and transform data to perform meaningful
analyses, visualize and interpret data and effectively communicate results and findings,
apply statistical methods to draw scientific conclusions from data, utilize statistical
models and machine learning tools, apply methods for big data to reveal patterns, trends,
and associations, employ high-performance scientific computing and software
engineering, collaborate with a team on data driven research project. In addition, it will
give me essential skills for the job market and a strong foundation for my further new
research direction in biostatistics or computational science with an emphasis in data
science and its applications in health science.
